
The living room of the Bandra bungalow had never felt so exposed.
Floor-to-ceiling glass panels spanned the entire sea-facing wall—usually shielded by sheer curtains during the day and heavy blackout drapes at night. Tonight, both were pulled wide open. The Mumbai skyline glittered beyond the glass: distant high-rises twinkling, the faint roar of late-night traffic on the Bandstand promenade drifting in on the humid breeze. Anyone on the beach path below, any neighbor with a high enough balcony, any passing boat on the Arabian Sea could look up and see everything.
